How do I ensure that surveys get to families?
You can choose from online, paper, PDF, or a combination of these survey options to make sure that families are receiving their surveys. Based on the goals of the survey program and the quality of data in your SIS, we can provide access to surveys in a variety of ways.
- Online Surveys: All families with email addresses receive a unique survey link to complete their surveys. Online, confidential surveys offer the opportunity for very accurate response-rate tracking.
- Mailed Paper Surveys: Paper surveys can be mailed to schools to be backpacked home with students or can be direct-mailed to families’ homes. Letters can be included with the survey that give information about how to take the survey online.
- PDF Surveys: PDFs are emailed to the school/district to be printed onsite and backpacked home with students. These PDFs can also include a letter with instructions for online survey-taking and can be a more cost-effective way to distribute surveys, especially if only a small number of paper surveys are needed.
- Combination: Many of our districts and schools opt to do a combination of paper, PDF, and online surveys.
